SWEET-EDGE

I currently work as a member of the EDGE-consortium, for the SFOE’s EDGE-project. I predominantly investigate effects of subnational and national policies on any kind of outcome in the Swiss renewable energy transition. My specialty lies in researching wind energy authorization procedures and their effects in Switzerland.

The Digital Transformation of Cantonal Administrations

CODEWIND: A Digital Co-Design Framework for Collaboration and Planning of Wind Energy Projecs

I’m on the advisory board of the EEG-funded project CODEWIND (12/2024-2/2028), led by OST Fachhochschule.

DESSCtrl – Public Control over the Decentralization of Electricity Systems in Switzerland.

This was my PhD-project, resulting in the publication of my book (forthcoming). To do this project, I was awarded a (highly competitive) Doc.ch-fellowship by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

In this project, I analyzed how the effectiveness of authorization procedures (sometimes called “siting” or “permitting”) is affected by federalism, meaning the interplay of the distribution of authority across, between and within levels of government. it focused mainly on local autonomy.
